Oliver Silén

Head Coach & Founder

Monday & Wednesday intermediate group, Tueday racing group, Thursday beginner group

I've sailed for longer than I can remember and started competing when I was 9 years old. I raced different dinghies, mostly the somewhat extreme 29er and 49er classes, until I was 20, culminating in an Olympic campaign towards Tokyo2020 together with my older brother Victor.

My coaching background goes all the way back to my teenage years when I started as a coach on our club's summer camps. After that I have coached everything from kids to adults, beginners to elite sailors, and dinghies to big boats.

In coaching or skippering a sailboat, I think the most important thing is to stay calm and create a relaxed atmosphere. All of our coaches' extensive experience from different boats and from racing ensures that they can handle the boat and stay calm even in rough weather and a group of beginners.

I'm very excited to see our little community grow during the summer."

Victor Silén

Coach, Tuesday Intermediate group & Wednesday beginner group

"Hello I'm Victor, Olivers older brother and middlechild of the family.

I have a long history of competitive sailing in a wide range of boats from slow and small dinghies to light and fast skiffs and big and heavy classic yachts.

My coaching background is almost as varied, with everything from beginner sailors looking to get their toes wet before some summer cruising to athletes aiming for the top of international regattas.

Lately I have been occupied with my desk job as a Process Metallurgist and have spent less time coaching. In my spare time I am currently racing in the f18 catamaran and on board Merenneito II 6mR yacht.

For me coaching is all about seeing people get inspired by the sport I have spent my life pursuing and discovering different ways how people learn and develop.

Looking forward to a nice summer 2026."

Mauri de Meulder

Coach, Monday & Thursday beginner groups

"Hi all, I’m Mauri, a 29-year-old lifelong sailor.

I first stepped onboard a sailboat at the age of five, exploring the archipelago with my godparents. Not long after, I learned the magic of sailing through sea scouts. During my university years, I got deeply involved in offshore racing, which most recently took me around the world in the Ocean Globe Race 2023–2024.

After the big oceans, I’ve come back to my roots with sea scouts and began to enjoy classic boat racing with the 6 mR class.

With a versatile background ranging from sea scouts and modern keelboats to offshore passages and classic yachts, I’m looking forward to sharing my experience and hopefully inspiring you this summer.

See you on the water!"
