Sailing in the Mediterranean

During the 2026 season, we are organizing five sailing trips in the Mediterranean. In April-May, we set off for Slovenia (this trip is already fully booked) to sail to Venice and back, and at the end of September we head to Croatia for two weeks. In October, we will spend two weeks in Mallorca.

Sailing tours from Split to Dubrovnik and Dubrovnik to Split

We have reserved a boat for two weeks (Sept 26 – Oct 10) to allow for a one-way route from Split to Dubrovnik during the first week, and from Dubrovnik back to Split during the second. This itinerary allows us to explore both the Split and Dubrovnik regions within a single week.

The autumn in Croatia offers favorable winds, plenty of sunshine, and temperatures comparable to a Finnish summer—averaging around 20°C in both the air and the water during the day. Check out the atmosphere from last year’s Croatia sailing trip here and here.

Generally, we prepare breakfast and lunch ourselves on the boat and have dinner at local restaurants whenever possible. We have extensive experience with the types of meals that work best on sailing holidays, and we will propose a menu for the week that takes participants' dietary restrictions into account. Naturally, changes can be made to both the meal and route plans based on the group's wishes, but having a solid plan in place allows you to fully relax and enjoy the experience.

Sailing trip around Mallorca

Our plan is to sail around the island of Mallorca over the course of two weeks, from October 10th to 24th. The journey is divided into two legs, so you can join us for either one week or the full two-week experience. Mallorca is a compact island, making the airport easily accessible from any harbor we visit.

The weather in Mallorca remains warm well into late October, making a sailing trip around the island the perfect way to extend your summer. We look forward to enjoying crystal-clear waters, incredible food, and breathtaking landscapes with dramatic, steep cliffs.

We haven’t finalized the yacht charter for Mallorca yet, so registration is not officially open just yet. However, you can pre-register your interest by sending an email to oliver@silenbrothers.fi.

What kind of boats do we sail on?

On our trips, we use modern 45–50 foot sailboats equipped with at least four cabins. In Slovenia, our boat is a 2021 Elan 45.1 Impression, and in Croatia, we sail on a Bavaria Cruiser 46 from 2018. You can see photos of the Bavaria 46 in the image carousel below.

Who can participate?

You can join the sailing trip either alone or with a friend, as an experienced sailor or a complete beginner. Oliver Silén will be the skipper for the trip and will teach you the basics of sailing if you wish. However, you can also just come along to relax and enjoy the laid-back atmosphere; there is no obligation to steer the boat or adjust the sails.

What are the cabins like on the boat?

The Bavaria 46 that we are using in Croatia has two aft cabins, and two bow cabins. From one of the aft cabins you can reserve an individual spot, while the other cabins are only bookable in their entirety.

Depending on the number of participants on the trip, the skipper will either sleep in their own cabin, share a cabin, or sleep on the sofa in the saloon or on the deck of the boat.

How much does sailing in the Mediterranean cost?

The price of the trip consists of the participation fee, the boat fund, and travel expenses to and from the boat.

Participation fee

Aft cabin for two: €1,900 (Mallorca 2100€)

Bow cabin for two: €1,800 (Mallorca 2000€)

Bed in a shared aft cabin: €950 (Mallorca 1050€)

Entire bow cabin for yourself: €1,500 (Mallorca 1700€)

Boat fund

The boat fund is used to pay for port fees, shared meals, fuel, and tourist taxes. The skipper does not contribute to the boat fund. Everyone pays their own share in restaurants, including the skipper. It is a good idea to set aside around €200-300 for the boat fund.

Travel expenses

Everyone is responsible for their own travel to and from the boat. Direct flights cost around €300-400 including luggage. From Split's airport it is only a 20 minute, 20-40€, taxi ride to the harbour. Dubrovnik airport is reached either by taxi (30 min, 30-50€) or bus (1 hr, 10€) from the harbour.

How do I register?

You can register either by email (oliver@silenbrothers.fi) or through the webshop. You can see the available cabins in the online store. However, you cannot pay through the webshop, as we are not registered in the security register of the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority in accordance with the Travel Package Act, which means that the trip will only be charged after it has started, not before.
